"Wait.....how long will I be under water?"

HEYYYYYOOOOO!

Ya know, as much as I would like to start off with a nice introduction to this email, let's just get to the good stuff. How 'bout it? I'm too excited to not. Soooo...... LISTEN UP.

Remember last week how I talked about having that feeling to set a baptismal date with Momomi and then how my District Leader gave me a training on it the same day? Wellllllllllll........ Here's the sequel. 

MOMOMI ACCEPTED THE INVITATION TO BE BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously could not be happier. This past week after English one day we were having a lesson with her and a member, and the time just felt sooooo right. We were in the middle of talking about the Book of Mormon when we decided to read Moroni 10:4-5 with her. We stopped, inserting her name into the scripture and the spirit was soooooooo strong. After we read it we asked her what it would mean to her if this were true.... She paused, waited for a second and then said, "I think I would come to believe in it all." Ah. We invited her to be baptized right then and she accepted! WOOOOOOOOOOO!

She then began asking more and more questions about baptism. We showed her the video of Jesus Christ getting baptized, and as we watched, I just had a moment of pure happiness. THIS is the joy they talk about when they talk about the joy of the gospel. I was probably talking 83192783 miles an hour. I was so so excited. She is so so special to me and I am so excited for her. She came to church for the first time, and came to a ward party this week. The members are obsessed with her, and I am just that missionary whose cheeks hurt from smiling so much. SERIOUSLY LOVE HER. <333

Also, just so you can all appreciate how great of a human she is... This week in English Class I asked her to make a sentence using the word "gonna." Her sentence? "I'm gonna go to church!" OKAY HI! WHAT? HELLO GOLDEN HUMAN. Also, when we were talking about baptism probably my favorite question she asked was, "Wait.... how long am I going to be under water?" She then proceeded to flail her arms and pretend to drown. PEOPLE DO YOU SEE WHY I LOVE THIS HUMAN? SHE IS AMAZING. Soooo funny. 

I wish I had more time to explain and go more into detail, but let me just say that I love being a missionary.

HEYYYYOOOOO!

Yaaaaaa... if you read my title you know..... It's official. I AM OM MY LAST TRANSFER. I honestly cannot believe it and it started to hit for the first time today. AHHHHHHHHHHHH! Here's to going hard leaving everything I have got. But BIG NEWS! Or well, not so big news because A. I wasn't transferred, and B. Me and my companion are both staying here in Urayasu! YAYYYYYYY! GOOOOO TEAM.

This week. Where to even begin.... welllllll, I got way sick which was a bummer. We had to spend 2 days in this week. First of the mission though, so I mean hey. Pretty good if you ask me! (But also s/o to that flu shot.... thanks for NOTHING) Annnnyyyyyways. I really came to know that God consecrates our efforts because listen uppppp.

MOMOMI. She is doing so so good. She has been praying morning and night and saying she can feel God more in her life every day. We had a lesson and taught her about what the Spirit was and she was sooooo excited about it. It made me so so excited about it. There's just something about sharing such happy things with your best friends. YAY.

Buttttt k. Coolest thing ever. So Momomi has not been learning for very long and she still is really in the beginning steps of the gospel, but this week while studying for her I felt this very distinct prompting that I needed to study about baptism and how to extend it to her. I made sure to write a nice hot pink note of it in my notebook so I could do it my next study. Well, I didn't tell anyone about that, but later that night we got a phone call from our district leader saying he had been praying about what to assign for trainings for District Meeting and at the very end of his study (same study that I had the feeling might I add) he thought about me, Momomi, and baptismal dates. He asked me to give a training on setting baptismal dates and when I told him I had been thinking the same thing he freaked out. 

Revelation is a thing and I am so so excited to see where this goes. God is at the head. I know that for sure!

HEYYYOOOO!

K.... it's been a week? Wuuuuutttttt. Time needs to slow down. I CAN'T HANDLE THIS! This week was good and crazy busy as always. Plus... only one typhoon! YAYYYYYY!  I am currently sitting in a doctor's office trying to get the flu shot... In Japanese. With no one in the doctor's office who speaks English... HAHA please just picture that for a second. It's so funny. Ya know, I really never thought I would be filling out doctor's office questionnaires in Japanese kanji but I mean hey.... bucket list right? ;)

The work is going well, we haven't stopped running and although my body might fall apart, and my bike is LITERALLY falling apart (lol the tire fell off twice this week), I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't even describe how much I love this area and these people. This week we had a couple of meetings with our investigator Momomi, and I realized I haven't written about her at all! SHE'S GOLDEN, soooo this one is dedicated to Momomiちゃん.

Ariha ちゃん (member across from me) and MOMOMIIIIIII

SOOOOOO YA. Momomi is 18 and the cutest person I have ever met in my life. Definitely one of those people I want to hang out with in the celestial kingdom... ;) She found us through her love for English. When I went to Eikaiwa for the very first time in Urayasu, she came for the first time as well because she found us online and came to check it out. Annnnndddddd, the rest is history. We have been teaching her and she is doing sooo well. She didn't believe in God at all but when we talked about the fact that he is our Heavenly Father and related it to Him being just like her dad, she had this moment of AHA. She has started praying and is feeling peace and love from her Heavenly Father who she is just realizing is there. It's amazing. She also is being fellowshipped by the ward sooo well, and AH it's just amazing. I loveeeee her. Once again. Eternal friends. (More updates coming soon.)

Before I came to Japan, everyone told me I would fall in love with the country. Well.... That's absolutely happened. But more than just the place itself, I mean don't get me wrong, I am absolutely obsessed and want to live here forever, but it's people like Momomi that are the reason I love it so much. I think I have found another of my friends and nothing makes me happier than showing her this gospel which brings me so so much happiness.

KONNICH.

Well.... where does one begin this week. This week I did missionary work under water. We had a pretty nice typhoon here in Tokyo that resulted in some fun memories! Typhoons, they're a dang good time. I will tell you that for free. Yesterday while housing in the POURING RAIN, the wind got so strong that cute Sister Robertson's umbrella flipped inside out. It didn't do us much good. BUT THE RAIN SUIT SURE DID. Yep. You heard it here folks..... The rain suit came out for action this week..... 

ASAKUSAAAAAAA!!

So we went to Asakusa (a wayyyyy famous shrine in Tokyo) for pday, and yes I will send more pictures next week, but because of it, our time is a litttttttle shorter today, so I'll just share something cool that happened this week. 

Last Sunday we were asked by our ward mission leader to start visiting a certain member every day. We weren't really sure of all the details, but we knew she was having a hard time. We went over and she was in a real tough spot. I felt so sad for her, and just wanted her to feel God's love SO BAD. 

Well from that day on we began praying with her every night as well as visiting, talking and reading the scriptures with her every day. It was amazing how things just came to our minds of what to share and what to talk about. From the first day we went over to how things are now, I can say without a doubt in my mind that the gospel changes people. Seeing how down she was and how even smiling was work at the beginning of this last week, to now where she is smiling and bearing her testimony to us every time we talk, it's AMAZING. 

Sometimes you have weeks where you are literally under water both literally and mentally. Me too! This week was one of them! Sometimes things get so stressful out here that I don't know what to do, but through this experience of working with this member, I have truly come to know that when we lean to God, He will ALWAYS help us through our trials.

KONNICH.

Welllllll... This week went from summer to winter in about 24 hours. Legit. I have no idea how, but I mean hey. There's that. 

THIS WEEK HOLY MIRACLES. THE LORD IS HASTENING HIS WORK. I'M SERIOUS. There were so many crazyyyyy things that happened this week but I think one of the highlights of the week goes by the name of Yasumi, who just so happens to be 9 years old. One day, Sister Robertson and I were heading out when we saw a cute little girl across the street. We said hello and immediately she crossed the street and came to talk to us... HI. This does not happen here. LIKE EVER. She introduced herself and said that she was 9 YEARS OLD. I THOUGHT SHE WAS LIKE 15.... Anyways, that's besides the point. We began talking and she said that she was Christian herself and went to church with her family every week! She was BEYOND curious of what we do at our church and said she really wanted to learn. We explained a little bit and she was asking so many questions. We ended up giving her a church tour and a Book of Mormon and she was so so happy.....

NOW FAST FORWARD TO THE NEXT DAY. We met up with her and the first thing she said was... "I read the book!" HI WHAT. She proceeded to tell us how good she felt when she read it and how she knew it was true. She told us she wanted to come to church and that she was asking her family and friends to all come with her. She told us she was so excited to go to church that she probably wouldn't sleep that night. K tell me that isn't the cutest thing EVER. SOOOOOOOO prepared. 

Well. You betcha. Cute Yasumi came to church and LOVED it. The members were so so good to her and she said she wanted to come back every week. We got to go to Primary with her and it was such a special experience. The kids all sang "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus." This has become my favorite song on my mission and it actually brought me to tears this time. Yasumi was just eating it all up. Then after church she came up and tugged me on the shoulder. "Wait here." she said and then legit ran away. Ummmmmm.... K?  Well next thing I know, Yasumi is back with a bouquet of flowers. She handed them to me and said, "These are for Jesus." 

................ I know. I was speechless too. This little girl is SO close to her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is so excited to learn and is inviting all those around her to come feel of the same joy she feels as well. I felt the Spirit so so strong this week as I was able to work with her and listen to the cute Primary kids sing. God loves His children... and that's a fact.  I love this work. <333

GENERAL CONFERENCE

Yay'ing because look how pretty this view is.

HELLLOOOOOO EVERYBODY!

Soooooooo. Ya. I am about a week late to join the party but we just barely got to see General Conference and WOWZAAAAAAA. The church is true. There's just not much more to say. I went into this Conference with a lot of questions. I have heard since I was young, "If you watch Conference with questions in mind it will mean more!!" But wow... this time. I took time to prepare and think of questions beforehand and went into Conference with a prayer in my heart. I have 10 weeks left in this mission.... It recently hit me and FREAKED ME OUT.

I had so many questions for this Conference but one huge one was, "What do you need me to do for these next 10 weeks? How can I be a better tool in my Heavenly Father's hands?" HOLY. As expected, God answered every single one of my questions and I left feeling a new light. The entire Saturday session was about service. About looking for ways to help someone EVERY DAY. It talked about loving those around us and simply trying to be like Jesus each and every day. The answer hit me like a brick wall. I am NOWHERE near being a perfect missionary, but I can take time to focus on service and try my best to be like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love General Conference and the chance I had to watch this one as a missionary. :)

Speaking of Conference miracles..... This week after Mission School (English Class), the Elders were watching the Priesthood Session of conference. We "casually" told our students if they wanted more listening practice they were more than welcome to come watch it with us..... lol. About 4 students came with us and afterward I began to talk to this student named Miki. She asked me, "Why was that man crying when he was speaking?" I got the chills as soon as she asked the question. I had the opportunity to explain the Spirit to her and talk to her about how we can feel it all the time. Miki wanted to learn more so we will start teaching her which is SO, SO exciting. The Spirit. It's a powerful thing, even in a language you don't quite understand.
